Meet the Staff Monday with Deb Quinn

Deb Quinn started at the White Oak Library District in May 2019. She is a Clerk in the Outreach Services Department based out of our Romeoville Branch.

What are your top three favorite books of all time? Heavenly Village by Cynthia Rylant, The Stand by Stephen King, and Collected Poems of Robert Frost

Who is your favorite author of all time? Nora Roberts and Stephen King

What genres can our patrons quiz you about to find the best books to read? Suspense, Mystery, Historical Non-Fiction

What are your top three favorite bands? ABBA, Chicago, and Alabama

Do you have any pets? Yes: Labradoodle named Ebby, Burmese cat named Casey, Striped tabby cat named Wilson, and Ghana African Grey named Aramis.

What is your favorite thing about working at the Library? The interaction with the patrons.

What’s your favorite food? Chocolate and bananas

What’s your favorite color? Blue

What do you like to do in your free time? What’s that? Seriously, when I have had free time, I like to be creative: baking, crafting, writing children’s stories.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you travel, and why? Scotland- some of my family is from Aberdeenshire and I’ve always been fascinated with Scotland. I would like to learn more about my family and where they lived.

What is one cool fact about you? I don’t know if it’s cool, but I run a small business, “Essentials by Deb” and run workshops teaching about essential oils.
