Book Review: Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows #1)

Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows #1) by Kim Harrison

Stick with me on this one. While the first book was rough, I’ll admit. (Full of cheese and all the readers are lactose intolerant) However, that being said the rest of the books in the series are quite excellent. It was as if Armstrong wanted to test out how crappy her writing could be with this first book then use it to fertilize and grow the garden of goodness that the rest of the series becomes. The world creation, lore, and use of supernatural tropes manages to come off as fresh, engaging, and even realistic in a certain sense.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
