Book Review: The Hawkweed Prophecy (Hawkweed Prophecy #1)

The Hawkweed Prophecy by Irena Brignull

I enjoyed this. The story was interesting; although some of the character growth was kind of lost in translation. It left it open for a sequel so maybe things will end up being rounded out. The structure of magic and how it was formed throughout the book was not super consistent, though still intriguing. Poppy seemed to have little problem with casting spells that allowed her to change people and their feelings with little to no preparation or ingredients. But other spells required more time and prep, and at times seemed like it should be the opposite.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
